In the wake of ethics allegations against Union Township, the trustees announced last week that they would implement a conflict of interest policy to avoid any perceived ethical transgressions in the future.

Board of Trustees Chairman Robert McGee said that this new ethics policy will ensure that the township, and all of its employees, adhere to the strictest ethical guidelines in governing and conducting business in and for the township.

McGee said the new policy would ensure that all business in Union Township would be “free of favoritism, bias, and the appearance of any type of improprieties.”
