Bethel-Tate, Milford, New Richmond, and Amelia boys earn victories on the local links

Golf action for Clermont County’s varsity boys squads has been plentiful, and in many situations, successful. Bethel-Tate and Milford have emerged with the largest number of triumphs in recent competition. New Richmond and Amelia have also been achieving victories.

Williamsburg and Goshen are in the midst of the SBC divisional volleyball chases

Williamsburg and Goshen, members of the Southern Buckeye Conference, have of late, been the biggest winners among Clermont County’s high school varsity volleyball teams. Amelia, Glen Este, and Milford, members of the Fort Ancient Valley Conference, have been playing tough throughout the season, too.

Lopsided scores are the name of the game for Week Five of varsity football campaign

Lopsided final scores were the majority of most of the Friday night varsity football games played by Clermont County’s teams. New Richmond and Glen Este were the best of the best on the positive side of the score. The host Lions (5-0 overall and 2-0 Southern Buckeye Conference American Division) scored early and often in its 63-0 routing of the Rockets (0-5 overall and 0-2 Southern Buckeye Conference American Division).

Lionel Dale Bradley, 77

Lionel Dale Bradley, 77, of Mt. Orab, died Sept. 17, 2008. He was a tool and die maker in Tennessee and an Army veteran. Funeral services were held Sept. 21 at the Egbert Funeral Home.

Julia Frances Sturwald, 89

Julia Frances Sturwald, 89, of Miami Township, died Sept. 20, 2008. She was a homemaker. Graveside funeral services were held Sept. 24 at the Graceland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Milford.

Robert Ray Blankenship, 63

Robert Ray Blankenship, 63, of Goshen, died Sept. 15, 2008. He was a tool and die maker at Positrol Inc. Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at the Evans Funeral Home in Goshen.

Robert Clayton Price, Jr., 81

Robert Clayton Price, Jr., 81, of Milford, died Sept. 17, 2008. He was a machine operator at Senco Fastening and a WWII Army veteran. Funeral services were held Sept. 20 at the First Baptist Church of Milford.

Thomas A. Baker, Jr.

Thomas A. Baker, Jr., of Cincinnati, died Sept. 19, 2008. Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at the Megie Funeral Home in Mt. Orab. Interment followed at the Mt. Orab Cemetery.

Geraldine Neal, 69

Geraldine (nee Darling) Neal, 69, died Sept. 17, 2008. She was born on Jan. 31, 1939. Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia. Interment followed at the Calvary Cemetery in Moscow.
