Goshen Township is hoping to build a $3.4 million community civic center.

The proposed center, with an accompanying amphitheater, pavilion, and park, would cost an estimated $3.4 million; it would seat more than 100 and provide a site for hundreds of activities, concerts, and shows.

Though still in the early developmental stages of this effort, the civic center complex would not be funded by Goshen, the trustees of the township, or its residents.

“Goshen won’t pay for this effort,” said Goshen Economic Director Louis Etheridge. “It will not be added onto the taxpayer’s bill. We’re hoping the community sees this as a free gift since it won’t be costing them a dime.”
