Batavia has become the fourth Clermont County high school to hire a new head football coach.
Ron Ogden is the new gridiron taskmaster at the county seat. He replaces Joe Moorehead who has moved from his alma mater on to New Richmond High School.
Ogden previously served as the Bulldogs’ head man and led the Green and White to a state playoff appearance while there. Last year he was the head football coach and athletic director at Williamsburg High School. He guided the Wildcats to their first varsity football victories in several seasons. He has also been the head football coach at Amelia and Paint Valley high schools.
Ogden’s move to Batavia happened very suddenly.
“Joe (Moorehead) resigned suddenly. It took place pretty quick. I’m pleased to be back at Batavia, but I really feel bad about leaving the kids at Williamsburg. . . Batavia has more kids and some good talent coming back for next year.”
