More than 400 area 4-H members participated in General Projects and Food/Nutrition Projects judging at the Clermont County Fairgrounds Saturday, June 28.

The 4-Hers, ranging in age from 5-19, typically spend months working on their projects, which are evaluated by adults with some expertise in the subject area.

The 12 judges evaluating projects Saturday were among the approximately 275 adult volunteers who give time to the 4-H program every year.

“In 4-H we have this band of volunteers,” Margaret Jenkins, OSU Extension Family and Consumer Science Educator, said. “They’re like mentors for the kids.”
