The Clermont High School Crew hosted its fourth annual Midwest Scholastics Championship Regatta on William H. Harsha Lake at East Fork State Park. A total of 50 teams from nine states competed. This was one of many highlights of the successful season turned in by the Clermont County high schoolers.

The Clermont Crew took four of the six places in the finals of the Women’s Varsity Singles race. The Clermont countians were Brittany Bushelmann and Lori Siegman of Amelia High School, Emily Motz of Glen Este High School, and Brenna Clifton of Milford High School.

“It was a very successful season,” said coach Amy Condrey. “We had kids from a lot of local high schools.

“We had four medal winners.” Earning medals were Brittany Bushelman (silver) and Jo Jeelani (bronze) in women’s singles and Justin Abbott (silver) in the men’s singles in the Dogwood Invitational that took place on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tn.

“We’ll have a good turnout for the summer. I expect a lot of team members next year. We’ll be recruiting. . . We’re excited about next year,” Condrey said.
