U.S. Army Sergeant Nathan Klick has been honored by the Clermont County commissioners for his exemplary military service to the country.

Born in Louisiana and raised in Batavia, Klick, 26, recently home from his second tour of duty in Iraq, was recognized by the county commissioners June 3.

“The recognition feels great,” a grateful Klick said. “It is a wonderful thing that our commissioners are doing for the Clermont County soldiers because a lot of the time, when soldiers get back, they do not realize how people in their communities feel about what they have done. Our commissioners are letting each and every one know how much the county appreciates everything they do.”

Since enlisting in the Army one year after graduating from Clermont Northeastern High School in 1999, Klick has served two harrowing tours of duty in the Iraq War.
