Thomas Joseph Schoenung, 65

Thomas Joseph Schoenung, 65, of Milford, died May 10, 2008. He was a hydraulic assembler at Cincinnati Milacron and a Vietnam War Navy veteran. Funeral services were held May 14 at the St. Andrew Church in Milford.

Robert White, 61

Robert White, 61, of Milford, died May 19, 2008. He worked in food service on an Air Force base. Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family.

Paul “KP” Barnes, 53

Paul “KP” Barnes, 53, died May 16, 2008. Visitation was held May 23 at the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Bethel. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Lewis “Chet” Miller, 79

Lewis “Chet” Miller, 79, died May 7, 2008 at the Kettering Memorial Hospital in Kettering, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry from 1950-1952 during the Korean War. Visitation and memorial services were held May 17 at the Bainbridge United Methodist Church.

O’Brien joins Ed Jones Amelia office

Financial advisor Robert O’Brien has joined the Edward Jones Investment Firm in Amelia. To welcome him to Clermont County and introduce him to the firm’s clients and the community, a customer appreciation open house was held for him at the Edward Jones offices May 15.

County to apply for $2 million grant for Ivy Pointe

Clermont County’s office of Economic Development has been authorized to submit a grant application in the amount of $2 million to the Ohio Department of Development Job Ready Site for the Ivy Pointe Commerce Park.

West Clermont students to participate in model program

To capture the energy of the West Clermont School District gifted students, both high schools will be participating in a pilot program concerning energy next year. A unique partnership between the Ohio Energy Project, Duke Energy, and the Ohio Department of Development, West Clermont was recently selected to be the first school district in the nation to participate in the new energy program.

Destination CycleSafe held to promote motorcycle safety

An estimated 400 people attended the Destination CycleSafe event held at the Midland Company in Amelia May 18. Sponsored by the Clermont County General Health District and Safe Communities, the event was held this month, which is National Motorcycle Awareness Month, to increase the safety of riders and to raise awareness of motorcycle safety.

Newtonsville man charged with reckless homicide

A drug deal gone terribly wrong may have led to the death of a man in Milford. The body of Judson Dalton, 56, was found dead near the Robbie Ridge Apartments in Milford in the early morning hours of May 16.

Batavia village association sponsoring an open house

The Village Association of Batavia is sponsoring an Open House in the village June 1. The Open House, which will take place from 1 – 3 p.m. Sunday, June 1 is a chance for residential and business owners to show the public their properties that are available for sale or for rent.
