New Richmond and Batavia’s boys and Goshen and Williamsburg’s girls made the best showings of the Clermont County teams in the Southern Buckeye Conference track and field championship meets that took place at Goshen High School.

Bethel-Tate senior Emily Tyler was a champion in three events – 100-meters high hurdles, 300-meters low hurdles, and 100-meters dash. Goshen’s Staci Hicks was champion in the 800-meters run and 1,600-meters run and teammate Jordan Buchanan, a junior, was the victor in the 200-meters dash and 400-meters dash. Batavia senior Andrew Avery won the long jump and 100 dash. Williamsburg senior DuSean Shelton captured the high jump and 800. Williamsburg sophomore Amy Brown was the winner in the discus and shot put.

New Richmond junior Josh Daniels established a new league record in the pole vault with a height of 13-feet, 9-inches (former record – Rickie Schafer of New Richmond in 2007 at 13-6.5).

Western Brown’s girls 3,200-meters relay made a new mark at 10:00.83 (former record – Western Brown in 2006 of 10-minutes, 14.43-seconds).
