Curtis Adkins, 86, Loveland, died April 21, 2008. He was born on April 5, 1922, in Lewis County, Kent. He was a carpenter and a building contractor and a U.S. Marine Corps WWII veteran.

He was preceded in death by parents, Robert Ernest and Katy (nee Felty) Adkins; wife, Maggie (nee Kratz) Adkins; and sister, Kathleen Clay.

He is survived by sons, Dale and Lee Adkins; daughters, Kathleen Beckman, Cheryl Kempf, and Susan Nordin; grandchildren, Jim and Rodger Tolliver, Colby Beckman, Jessica, Brittany, and Stephanie Nordin, Emilee and Rachel Kempf, Michael and Lisa Adkins, and Bethany Bean; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Ernestine Schmelzl, Jean Franz; and brothers, William and Drexel Adkins.

Funeral services were held April 28 at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial followed at the Cherry Fork Cemetery in Highland County.
