Goshen and Milford got through recent high school varsity baseball action unscathed as did New Richmond. Amelia, Batavia, and Glen Este also posted success of late as the county’s hardball squads continue to provide tough competition.

Goshen

The Warriors bombed Blanchester 11-1 in six innings. Billy Whitacre limited the Wildcats to just one hit while striking out nine in the Southern Buckeye Conference non-division blowout. He assisted himself with two hits and two runs batted in (RBI), Thomas Gibson had three hits and three RBI and scored thrice, Kyle Daulton added three base raps and two RBI, and Chris Petry plated two teammates.

Batavia lost its first Southern Buckeye Conference game to the Red and Gray 10-5. Daulton picked up the win and Korey Eads the loss on the mound. Daulton and Gibson had three hits each and Darren Garrett two. For the Bulldogs, Matt Beitman homered and Kris Hecktor and Eric Roberts had two hits each.

The Red and Gray beat the county’s other Red and Gray, Bethel-Tate, 8-1 in the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division. Gibson three-hit the Tigers and fanned eight. Tommy Galea absorbed the setback on the hill. Gibson homered and had two RBI and Whitacre, Daulton, and Jaimie Ashcraft each had three base knocks.
