The Clermont Northeastern School District is determining how best to proceed with replacing one of it’s oldest schools.

A citizen’s advisory committee was formed 16 months ago after the district received the state’s assessment on the school facilities, which was not favorable.

“The state came in to inspect and did an analysis on what it would take to improve the facilities to measure up to state standards,” said CNE treasurer Brian Switzer. “They look at the heating and air conditioning, plumbing, roofing, etc. The state informed us that three of our buildings fall into the replacement category.”

Those three buildings include the Owensville Elementary School, the High School building, and the current Middle School building.
