Fifty years ago, in the next to the last year of its existence, Moscow High School enjoyed the finest varsity boys basketball season in the history of the school that had its first graduating class in 1882.

Moscow was always, or usually, the high school with the smallest enrollment in Clermont County and therefore found it very difficult to compete against all larger schools. But come the 1957-58 basketball season and the Yellow Jackets were actually favored to win the Clermont County League (CCL) championship.

The members of the CCL at the time were Amelia, Batavia, Bethel, Clermont Northeastern, Felicity, Goshen, Moscow, and Williamsburg.

It was the first school year for the newly consolidated Clermont Northeastern School District. The Owensville Blackhawks (orange and black were the school colors) graduated its final class in 1957.
