The West Clermont Board of Education has received an update on the construction of the new Amelia and Withamsville-Tobasco elementary schools by West Clermont Local School District Director of Operations Edward Dyer.

The West Clermont Board of Education, at this schematic design phase of the $30 million project, has now seen some preliminary building drawings, some preliminary site plans, and some other assorted visual aides.

“This is still very much a work in progress,” Dyer informed the board at its regular session March 10. “But we are now getting very close to the final designs that will meet the needs of the two new schools, so we are currently soliciting input from the community about those preliminary designs.”

Last November, the school district secured the funding for the replacement of the Amelia and Withamsville-Tobasco elementary schools after voters approved a bond issue in support of the new schools.

Since that time, Dyer, in full cooperation with the board, has contracted with a design team, the architects, and the construction teams. All parties are now in the design and planning stages.
