Extraordinarily prepared for all emergency snow events, the Clermont County Engineer’s Office was able to stay on top of the the foot of snow that fell on the county last weekend.

“We got hit pretty hard, but we had a plan, we stuck to that plan, and we executed that plan very well,” said county engineer operations deputy Rob Alfieri.

Alfieri said that the worst case scenario for snow storms is always ice because people are sliding off the roads and trucks have a hard time getting around; fortunately, last week’s storm really did not produce that much ice.

“We just got a whole lot of snow,” Alfieri said. “And quite frankly, we did not use that much salt. We pre-salted the roads before it started snowing on Friday morning, so that helped.”
