Three candidates are in the running to become the democratic candidate for the Second Congressional district.

Returning candidate Victoria Wulsin is sharing the field with William Smith and Stephen Black, all of whom are hoping to challenge the republican primary winner for the congressional seat in November.

Wulsin campaign director Ann Herzner said that Wulsin’s focus on families and people in general make her a strong candidate for the position.

“She’s been a physician for many years,” said Herzner. “She has a lot of experience working with people. She’s done some work overseas in Africa with her non-profit group SOTENI International. She’s a people person, and to be a successful candidate in congress you need to have really good people skills.”
