Batavia has been battling from the get-go for the championship crown in the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division. The Bulldogs are currently in second place; Georgetown is in first place.

“We’re playing up to our expectations. We’re playing up to what we’re capable of,” said Aaron Brose, head coach of the Green and White. “The team has been playing hard. They are all hustle all of the time.”

Jamie Bare, a senior forward, is Batavia’s scoring leader averaging 11.5 points per game, Kayla Ernst, a junior forward, is averaging 11.0, Emily Webb, a junior forward, is averaging 9.5, and Heather Hines, a senior guard-forward, is averaging 8.0. The rebounding leader has been Webb at 7.5 per contest.

“Ashton Embry (senior guard-forward) has been our floor leader. This is her first year at point guard and she handles everything very well,” said Brose. Embry leads her team with three assists and three steals per outing.
