No one was hurt when a large electrical fire raged through a Monterey home Jan. 20.

The Jackson Township Fire Department, after receiving a 911 call dispatch from the residents at 6:59 p.m., responded to the location at 2934 U.S. State Route 50 within three minutes, Fire Chief Bill Wiederhold said.

“We were at work in the firehouse when we got the alarm,” Wiederhold said. “When we arrived on the scene, the whole upper story of the home was engulfed in flames.”

The Jackson Township Fire Department had the fire under control in less than three hours after experiencing difficulty with several of the roof and the ceiling layers.
