Rebecca Grosnickle, 89, of Pleasant Plain, died Dec. 17, 2007. She was born on Sept. 17, 1918, near Dry Ridge, Ky. Funeral services were held Dec. 21 at the Stonelick Church of the Brethren in Pleasant Plain.
James A. Christy, 68
James A. Christy, 68, of New Richmond, died Dec. 10, 2007. Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family and the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Bethel is serving the needs of the family.

Leona M. Knauer, 92, of Williamsburg, died Dec. 11, 2007. Graveside funeral services were held Dec. 15 at the Williamsburg Cemetery.

Donald Davis, 47, died Dec. 10, 2007. Visitation and funeral services were held Dec. 14 at the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia, who are serving the needs of the family.
Baker’s trial in Kentucky has been postponed
The judge assigned to reside over the Kentucky trial of Amy Baker may recuse himself from hearing the case. It was announced Dec. 17 that Amy Baker’s trial has been postponed to give all parties involved in the case a chance to determine whether or not they wish Mason County Judge Stockton Wood to recuse himself from the case.
Humane Society Shelter has a Christmas wish list
The Clermont County Humane Society is seeking a little help this holiday season. While most are familiar with the Christmas wish lists composed by children, the Clermont Humane Society composes a yearly wish list for residents seeking to help out animals in need, a list which has helped the local shelter to operate more smoothly in years past.
West Clermont, UC Clermont college form partnership
In efforts to create a supportive atmosphere and environment to retain its teachers, the West Clermont School District has partnered with University of Cincinnati education professionals. To assist in that mission, the district applied for and has been awarded the Carnegie Corporation Grant from the teaching center at the University of California in Santa Cruz.
