Brenda Nesselroad-Slaby, former assistant principal at the Glen Este Middle School, will apply for disability retirement benefits.

According to the termination settlement agreement reached with the West Clermont Board of Education, which was made public Dec. 11, Nesselroad-Slaby, who is under a physician’s care, will apply for the retirement benefits with the State Teachers Retirement Disability System.

Nesselroad-Slaby was placed on an indefinite paid administrative leave after her 2-year-old daughter died after being left in a hot car for eight hours in the parking lot of Glen Este Middle School Aug. 23; a month later, she agreed to be transferred to sick leave status.

Nesselroad-Slaby was not charged or prosecuted for any crime in regards to the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death.
