Nobody was hurt, although a vending machine at the Carriage House Auto Spa bore the brunt of a blast from an explosive device last week. Miami Township Police are looking for any information concerning the apparent bombing that caused between $10,000 and $15,000 in damage to the business.

Detective Nick Colliver said that the blast could have been dangerous for anyone nearby, as the explosive device was apparently designed to spread the damage as far as possible.

“We get little MacGyver bombs that people shove into mailboxes from time to time,” said Detective Colliver. “We haven’t had anything recently, and certainly nothing with BBs attached to it. There were BBs in with this, projectiles that would cause the explosion to project and possibly hurt someone.”

According to Detective Colliver, the police were contacted on Dec. 13 concerning the incident, which destroyed a vending machine at the business.
