Think twice before you decide to criticize Santa
I debated about whether to write about Santa Claus. Some will consider doing so frivolous.
But when I heard that a former Surgeon General of the United States had allegedly described Santa as too fat and a bad health example for children, I felt compelled to address the subject.
Actually, hearing someone criticize Santa for being overweight should be troubling to all senior citizens. After all, Santa Claus is one of us. Whether intended or not, this attack on the plump, chubby, jolly old elf is an attack on all of us.
As we age it is natural to put on a few pounds. Santa has been delivering toys to boys and girls around the world for untold millennia.
