Pleasant Hill, the historically significant Miami Township home of Scot and Theresa Conover, is one step closer to being placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

“We are still very hopeful that the nomination will be accepted,” Theresa Conover said at her home located at 909 state Route 131 Dec. 1. “We have been waiting for a long time – we should know within the next 45 days.”

Before the Conover family bought the home in the Spring of 2004, and knowing that the home had some historical significance, they had done extensive personal research on the history of the house, as well as a unique barn, also located on the property.

“We have always wanted to pursue getting the house placed on the National Register,” Theresa said. “It is a 140-year old landmark in Miami Township and we are devoted to seeing it preserved for future generations.”
