Tournament competitions were not necessarily or particularly the highlights of the fall varsity girls tennis season for Clermont County’s varsity teams.

Sectional Tournament

Division II

Clermont County’s best efforts were made in the Division II level of competition. This sectional took place at Seven Hills School.

Katie Bird, New Richmond junior, enjoyed the most success and advanced further that any other Clermont county competitor. Bird in round one began with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over a Roger Bacon Spartan, then a 6-1, 6-0 verdict over a Reading Blue Devil, and then a 6-0, 6-0 victory over a Finneytown Wildcat before being eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Bethel-Tate’s singles player, Tressa Evans defeated New Richmond 6-3, 6-1 and Roger Bacon 6-4, 6-0.

Bethel-Tate’s Katie Shouse was also a double winner. She decisioned Goshen 7-6, 6-4 and Blanchester 6-0, 6-0.

Bethel-Tate’s Stephanie Runyan overcame Goshen 6-2, 6-2 and Roger Bacon 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
