Clermont County Safe Communities and Mercy Hospital Clermont celebrated the third annual “Mocktails” event at the hospital Nov. 16.
“Mocktails are non-alcoholic cocktails or beverages,” said Safe Communities director Martha Enriquez. “One of our goals is to stop drinking and driving in order to reduce fatalities. The mocktails event is a lighthearted way of addressing a very serious issue by offering a delicious alternative to alcoholic drinks, especially around the holidays when alcohol-related crashes seem to increase.”
Enriquez said that by offering mocktails, one can ensure that party guests will be safe to operate an automobile while still enjoying a delectable alternative to a cocktail.
