In their last week of regular-season action, before the sectional tournament, Williamsburg, Goshen and Milford’s varsity volleyball teams earned winning records. Glen Este and Clermont Northeastern broke even.

Williamsburg

The Wildcats, champions of the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division (SBC-N), blocked Lockland’s Panthers 25-9, 25-12, 25-16 before a happy home crowd. Georgetown’s G-Women went down in SBC-N play on their floor 25-7, 25-10, 25-23. Being at home did not help the Felicity Cardinals who were beaten 25-7, 25-12, 28-26 in a SBC-N game. Arch-rival Batavia was the host Blue and White’s next victim 25-12, 25-10, 25-10. This, too, was a SBC-N fray. Williamsburg head coach Ed Stewart recorded the 500th varsity victory of his long and glorious career by beating the guest Blanchester Wildcats 25-21, 25-13, 25-13 in the SBC-N.

Goshen

The Warriors handed ‘Burg its lone loss near the season’s end. The Warriors skinned the ‘Cats in a tough battle on the winners’ court 25-16, 25-14, 24-26, 25-17. The Red and Gray hosted the defending SBC American (SBC-A) Division champion Clermont Northeastern Rockets and defeated the Blue and Gold 25-20, 25-6, 25-11. Western Brown, the new SBC-A titlist, placed the only blemish on the Goshen season-end mark with a 25-19, 25-22, 25-18 win over their hosts.
