An investigation launched after a Glen Este High School football player was arrested on drug charges could have the potential to bring indictments against a number of drug users in the area.

A police report from the Union Township Police Department shows that a 17-year-old student was arrested on Oct. 22 for suspicion of using drugs and found to have a large amount of both illegal substances and firearms in his possession. More importantly, however, the investigation also uncovered a drug ledger which may hold details of suppliers, purchasers and other activities that could lead the police to more arrests.

According to the report, the investigation began after numerous drug tips were provided to the police department. A search of a property on Clepper Lane led to charges of drug trafficking, possession of methadone, possession of weapons under disability and possession of criminal tools. These charges range from felonies of the third degree to felonies of the fourth degree.
