Clermont County voters have passed the renewal levy to support the Board of Mental Retardation and Development Disabilities (MRDD).

The five-year, .75 mill renewal levy is expected to generate an anticipated $2.5 to $3 million a year.

The MRDD was asking voters to support the levy because the five-year levy that voters approved in 2003 expires in 2008.

Generated levy money will only be used to pay for services for the hundreds of clients of the MRDD, said MRDD Superintendent Sharon Woodrow.
