The student Interact Club at Batavia High School is partnering with Project Linus and collecting fleece in order to make blankets for needy children.

The Interact Club, which is made up of about 20 Batavia High School students, is Rotary International’s local community service club for teenagers, ages 14-18, who want to make a difference in improving the lives of others.

In their latest service project initiative, the Interact Club is asking the community to donate fleece and assist them in their mission of making as many blankets as possible to then be distributed to needy kids through the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, local foster care agencies, and many law enforcement agencies.

Student project leader and Batavia High School junior Olivia Enriquez, 16, who recently started the local chapter of the initiative, said that she wanted the Interact Club to start a local chapter and partner with Project Linus because it is an honorable and worthwhile thing to be involved in.
