The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is launching a college depression awareness initiative this fall.
The AFSP Cincinnati has produced and launched a college film, with an accompanying facilitator guide, that is going to be sent to all Ohio colleges.
The film, which addresses college students about issues such as depression and suicide, will contain a personal letter from Kathy Winter, an AFSP volunteer whose son Joe committed suicide after a silent battle with bipolar disorder while he was a college student.
The now available DVD was launched in Joe’s memory; a photo of Joe is attached to each individual copy of the film.
