Four individuals involved in two Clermont County bank robberies last month have been apprehended.

On Oct. 6, law enforcement officers from the Amelia Police Department, the Union Township Police Department, and the Bethel Police Department, all working together and combining their efforts, arrested four county residents involved in the Sept. 24 robbery of the Key Bank in Amelia and the Sept. 29 robbery of the PNC Bank in Union Township.

Union Township and Amelia police say that the robbers used the same method in both bank heists, which was to call in a suspicious person somewhere else in order to divert police attention away from the areas where the two banks were robbed.

The Key Bank in Amelia and the PNC Bank in Union Township were robbed, respectively, Sept. 24 and Sept. 29, after such calls were made, said Union Township Lt. Scott Gaviglia.
