Clermont Northeastern earned its first victory of the Clermont County high school varsity football season. Glen Este, Goshen, and New Richmond added one more victory to their growing totals.

Clermont Northeastern (1-5) joined the winners’ circle by beating Bethel-Tate (0-6) 21-6 in Owensville. After a scoreless first period of the Southern Buckeye Conference American Division game, the Rockets led 6-0 at the half, but the Tigers tied the score at 6 going into the final stanza. Dave Dieterle passed 25 yards to Josh Dales to begin the scoring for CNE, Dieterle ran a yard for a TD of his own and Cody Green ran 10 yards for the final six-pointer. Green ran for two extra points and Alyssa Loch kicked for one.

“I’m very happy we got a win; I’m very proud of them,” said Josh Durbin, CNE head coach. “It was a good team effort.”

Jake Bieber intercepted a pass for Northeastern and returned it 45 yards.
