Bethel-Tate and New Richmond have been the most recently successful girls varsity tennis contingents in Clermont County. Amelia, Goshen, and Milford have been winning a good share of recent confrontations, too.

Bethel-Tate

The Tigers shut out arch rival and Southern Buckeye Conference (SBC) adversary the Felicity Cardinals 5-0 at the aviary. The winning Tigers were Stephanie Runyan (first singles) 6-1, 6-3, Tressa Evans (second singles) forfeit, Katie Shouse (third singles) forfeit, Megan Fancher and Shayna Runyan (first doubles) 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, and Sam Cundiff and Mandy Hiler (second doubles) 6-0, 6-0.

The Red and Gray downed Blanchester’s Wildcats 3-2 on the losers’ court in non-division SBC action. The triumphant Tigers were Stephanie Runyan (first singles) 5-7, 6-3, 6-2, Shayna Runyan (third singles) 6-0, 6-2, and Cundiff and Cheyenne Davidson (second doubles) 6-0, 6-0.

Bethel-Tate also edged East Clinton 3-2 in another SBC battle. Second singles Tressa Evans 7-5, 6-2, third singles Katie Shouse 6-2, 6-3, and second doubles Cundiff and Hiler 6-1, 6-2 accounted for the winners’ team points.
