The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is hosting an “Out of The Darkness” Community Walk at Ault Park Oct. 14.

The national walk campaign, which is in its fourth year, provides healing for those individuals and families who have experienced suicide in their lives.

According to AFSP local chair Deb Clancy, the walk campaign is designed to create a strong network of individuals around the country and will increase the number of people involved in local AFSP chapters to “promote positive health and raise funds for research and programs related to mental illness.”

The AFSP is also focused on eradicating the antiquated stigma that still surrounds those living and suffering with mental illness.
