A recent narcotics sweep by the Clermont County Narcotics Unit resulted in 123 marijuana plants being found and destroyed. The plants were found in Jackson, Williamsburg and Franklin Townships, with another 96 being discovered just across the border into Brown County.

In all, 466 plants have been seized in the county this year, said the release, which also posted the value of the plants at about $1,000 each. The amount of plants found and destroyed marks an increase of 200-300 percent over what has been found in past years. In 2006, 125 plants were found, while in 2005, 195 plants were found.
