Conflicting emotions were palpable at the Union Township Civic Center after the West Clermont Board of Education announced that it would not take any comments from the public concerning the future employment status of Brenda Nesselroad-Slaby.

After a 60-minute behind-closed-doors executive session at the Sept. 10 meeting, the Board took no action concerning Slaby’s future with the school district.

Immediately after the board went into private session, the more than 50 people in attendance debated and argued passionately about whether or not Slaby should be allowed to keep her job as the assistant principal at the Glen Este Middle School.

Several Union Township police officers looked on as the room erupted into heated debate about the mother who accidentally left her two-year old daughter Cecilia in a hot car in the middle school’s parking lot Aug. 23. Clermont County prosecutor Don White has decided not to charge her with any crime.
