The Clermont County Commissioners are expected to reach a decision in the next 30 days regarding the controversial annexation of just over six acres of land from the Stonelick Township into the village of Owensville.

The Stonelick Township Board of Trustees is opposed to and is trying to block the proposed annexation of a 6.123-acre parcel of township property that is located directly south of Owensville along U.S. Route 50 and just west of state Route 132.

Owensville Mayor Cheryl House, the Owensville Village Council, and Owensville Police Chief Paul Sturgill are proponents to the proposed annexation; the Stonelick Township Board of Trustees are the ones opposed to and attempting to block the annexation.

All involved and interested parties, both for and against the annexation, gave testimony before the Clermont Board of Commissioners at a public hearing Sept. 4.
