One month after the sudden fatal bridge collapse in Minnesota, the Clermont Engineer’s Office would like the public to know that the more than 400 bridges in the county are structurally sound and pose no threat to public safety.

For decades now, the engineer’s office has had a comprehensive plan in place in regard to the inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of county bridges.

State law requires that all bridges are inspected at least once a year.

“The situation in Minnesota has certainly focused more attention on bridge safety,” said Clermont County Engineer Patrick Manger. “People should not worry about our local bridges because for us, bridge inspection and safety is and will continue to be a top priority for this department.”
