Some 17 people in New Richmond and Felicity have been indicted on 35 felony charges related to drug trafficking and manufacture in Clermont County.

Symmes Township teenager Grady McGoff recently finished renovating the Ohio State University Alumni Club vendor booth on the Clermont County Fairgrounds. “The booth was a mess - it had truly outlived its life,” McGoff said at the fair July 23. “My grandmother suggested that I fix up the booth for my eagle scout project. I began working on it two months ago and just finished up in time for this year’s fair.”

The Clermont County Agricultural Society Board of Directors is currently exploring options to raise money in order to add more stalls to the horse barns located on the fairgrounds. On the average, 120 kids participate in the Junior Fair every year.

Amy Baker, the 26-year-old Clermont County woman who admitted under oath to being involved in last summer’s cover-up of the murder of 3-year-old foster child Marcus Fiesel, was indicted in Kentucky July 27 for tampering with evidence.

Milford Schools officials are hoping to clear the air concerning a new bond issue attempt, which is intended to maintain current taxation rate with homeowners in the district. Two special meeting dates have been set by the board to discuss the bond issue with the public. Those meetings will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 7 and at 11 a.m. Aug. 10.

Attended by an estimated 100,000 people, the 2007 Clermont County Fair, which took place July 22 – 28, was once again a success. “The 158th Fair was a huge success,” said Agricultural Society Fair Board Director Bea Faul. “It was a whole new world this year. It was a success for all of the many participants, vendors, and everyone else involved, especially the outstanding young people involved in the junior events of the fair. The weather was more than cooperative, with only one evening of rain.” Considering all of the changes and additions that were made this year, there were no problems and everything ran very smoothly, Faul said.
