FAVC Cardinal dream team is selected

Amelia was well-represented on the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Cardinal Division spring sports all-star teams.

Following are the Barons who earned a berth on the respective sports dream teams.

Baseball

First team

Jason Wuerdeman (senior outfielder).

Second team

Spencer Cox (junior shortstop and third baseman) and Garrett Hounshell (junior second baseman).

Final conference record (overall record)

Kings 9-1 (17-9), Turpin 8-2 (18-6), Wilmington 6-4 (10-16), Amelia 4-6 (11-14), Little Miami 2-7 (4-16), and Walnut Hills 0-9 (5-22).

Softball

First team

Alex Decker (sophomore shortstop).

Second team

Rachel Hays (sophomore outfielder) and Shelby Madden (sophomore catcher).

Final conference record (overall record)

Kings 10-0 (23-4), Little Miami 7-3 (22-7), Turpin 5-5 (13-12), Amelia 4-6 (10-12), Wilmington 4-6 (10-14), and Walnut Hills 0-10 (8-23).

Boys track

First team

Garrett Hart (junior 110-meter high hurdles and long jump).

Second team

Justin Brooks (400-meter dash) and Justin Brooks, Josh Harrell, Austin Hounshell, and Adam Sprague (3,200-meter relay).

Fort Ancient Valley Conference Cardinal Division meet

Turpin 174, Kings 116, Wilmington 94, Amelia 83, Walnut Hills 45, and Little Miami 8.

Girls track

First team

Bethany Robinson (senior high jump).

Second team

Kayla Wakefield (senior 800-meter run).

Kings 143, Walnut Hills 136, Turpin 115, Wilmington 90, Amelia 28, and Little Miami 11.

Boys tennis

Second team

Eric Schweinhart (senior first singles).
