A Goshen man is dead after a fire of unknown origin destroyed a single-family dwelling on Snider Road. The fire began in the early morning hours Saturday.
“The cause is still undetermined at this point,” said Goshen Township Fire Chief Virgil Murphy. “We’re working with the fire marshal’s office in that respect and we’re waiting for an autopsy report before we make a final determination.”
Killed in the blaze was Joshua Combs, 21, who was reportedly trapped in the basement. Although Combs survived initially, he died later at University Hospital. Besides Combs, only a few minor injuries were reported in the incident.
