Main Street may be widened
Amelia officials are hoping to widen the narrow stretch of Main Street that runs through the village. In 2000, the village adopted an in-depth comprehensive plan with many goals and objectives that reflect the aspiration of Amelia residents (and council) in order to achieve the highest possible quality economic, social, and environmental vitality for the village, said administrator Mark Menz.
Critter Costume Parade will be held in Batavia
Get ready to deck out those dogs and costume those cats. Animals of all sorts are invited to participate in Batavia’s first annual Clermont Critter Costume Parade.

Frances Bodley, 76, of Milford, died Aug. 23, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Bodley, Sr. Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at the Craver-Riggs Funeral Home in Milford.
Leona M. Butterbaugh, 79
Leona M. Butterbaugh, 79, of Milford, died Aug. 22, 2007. She was a self-employed hairdresser. Funeral services were held Aug. 24 at the Evans Funeral Home in Milford.
Parmie Lee Campbell, 83
Parmie Lee (nee Bradley) Campbell, 83, of Bethel, died Aug. 22, 2007. Funeral services were held Aug. 25 at the E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia. Interment followed at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Winona Beth Wilson, 87
Winona Beth Wilson, 87, of Williamsburg Township, died Aug. 21, 2007. She was a homemaker. Funeral services were held Aug. 24 at the Evans Funeral Home.
Darrell Winders, 89
Darrell Winders, 89, of Milford, died Aug. 26, 2007. He was a salesman at K-Mart and a WWII Army veteran. Funeral services were held Aug. 30 at the Evans Funeral Home.
Frances Rita Trombley, 86
Frances Rita Trombley, 86, of Loveland, died Aug. 20, 2007. Frances was a homemaker and a WWII Army fifth grade technician veteran. Funeral services were held Aug. 23 at the Evans Funeral Home.
Gary Lloyd Berg, 59
Gary Lloyd Berg, 59, of Mariemont, died Aug. 17, 2007. He was a U.S. veteran. Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family and the Craver-Riggs Funeral Home is serving the needs of the family.
Theresa Roy, 45
Theresa Darlene Justice Roy, 45, of Bethel, died Aug, 25, 2007. Funeral services were held Aug. 27 at the Bethel Assembly of God. Burial followed at the Tate Township Cemetery.
