More than 60 young Potter-ites of all ages attended an event at the Amelia branch library to celebrate the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” July 21.

The spellbound children, some dressed up as muggles or magicians, filled out raffle tickets as they entered in the hopes of winning a copy of “Deathly Hallows,” the final installment of the wildly popular series of Potter books written by J.K. Rowling.

“This event is a great way to celebrate a book and a whole series of books,” said Amelia Library Youth Services Director Angi St. Clair. “I mean how often do you get to do that?”

Five lucky children went home with a copy of the book, which were purchased by a local Friends of The Library group, which also funded the event.
