A rash of more than a dozen car break-ins last week has deputies enforcing curfews in some Batavia Township communities.

In all, around 14 separate incidents were reported, ranging from township streets to driveways in Bristol Lake, Buxton Meadows, Sierra Court and several other locations.

“We have no suspects at the time, and no one’s been arrested,” said Lt. Steve Leahy of the Clermont County Sheriff’s Department. “Basically, what we’re doing right now is looking at juveniles. The township deputies are enforcing curfew issues.”

According to a press release from the sheriff’s department, most of the thefts were believed to have taken place between midnight and 7 a.m. on July 2 and July 3. Most of the vehicles involved were believed to have been left unlocked.
