The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) has announced that it has set a new membership record with its current total of 230,473 official state members.

This is the 40th consecutive year in a row that the OFBF organization has reached such record numbers while simultaneously experiencing growth in the total number of farmer members in the state, which currently stands at 60,162, according to OFBF executive vice-president Jack Fisher.

There are a total of 2,600 members in the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation who reside or farm in Clermont County (there are 900 farms in the county); two hundred of those individuals joined the farm bureau and became active members during last year alone.

“Clermont County averages around two hundred people that annually join the organization,” said Clermont County Farm Bureau spokesperson Heather Utter. “We are constantly and actively recruiting new members by holding membership drives every year (the last one was in January) in Clermont; that additional two hundred is a very good number for us this year.”
