The Felicity branch of the United States Post Office has designed and created a cancellation stamp for the 2007 Clermont County Fair.

And for the first time in the fair’s 158-year history, there will be a fully operational Clermont County Owensville branch of the post office booth set up on the fairgrounds every day (July 22 – 28) of this annual event.

Michael Ring, who has been the Felicity postmaster for the last three years, said that the cancellation stamp (really a postmark) idea came about from what are known as quality work life employee involvement projects (QWL/IE), which are projects designed by a combination of rural carriers, their subs, management, postmasters, and supervisors.

These postal representatives meet once or twice a month (usually at an off-site location) to think of ideas that they can implement to make their jobs easier and safer as managers and carriers. They also discuss ways to generate revenue and focus on initiatives to make people more aware of the many safety issues involved in a rural carrier’s daily life on the road.
