The New Richmond Economic Development Committee is moving forward with its mission of revitalizing the economy and making the village a family-oriented destination.

The economic development committee, which was formed last July and is made up of more than 30 concerned village residents, gave a presentation on its progress to the New Richmond village council June 18.

According to committee member Ray Perszyk, the presentation was a way for the committee to report and present their progress in the past year to the village council for approval and validation (council initiated the committee last year).

“The purpose of the meeting was to present our results and recommendations to the village council,” he said. “After 14 months of exploration, brainstorming sessions, public meetings, and research, the committee needed to report and get general approval from the council to move forward, explore feasibility, work out timing and funding requirements, and consider options to accomplish our vision.”
