Clermont County residents participated in Operation River Sweep June 16.

Cooperative weather welcomed the more than 60 volunteers who assembled along the Ohio River in New Richmond to participate in the beautification effort which entailed picking up litter and debris from the river’s shoreline and its many tributaries.

From 9 a.m. until noon, the volunteers walked the river’s shoreline and picked up garbage. After receiving trash bags, gloves, outdoor kits, and free T-shirts, the volunteers were free to go to work in the annual clean-up event.

Everyone was rewarded with a complimentary noon lunch that was served at New Richmond’s bandstand at the end of the day.
