The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in an effort to promote motorcycle safety, spread awareness, and ultimately to save lives on all the Clermont County roads and highways, is participating in a state-wide program known as “Look For The Light.”

The “Look for the Light” campaign has been introduced and is being implemented by Motorcycle, Ohio, the premier motorcycle safety and education program in the state. The light refers to the headlight on the front of motorcycles.

Immediately after hearing of the new “Look for the Light” campaign, Ohio State Patrol Batavia Post Commander Randy McElfresh contacted Motorcycle, Ohio to express Clermont County’s interest in participating in the safety and awareness promotion.

“When we heard about it, we contacted them to get on board with the campaign, because historically, Clermont County has shown a problem with motorcycle-related injuries and fatalities,” Lieutenant McElfresh said. There are more than 6,000 registered and licensed motorcyclists in Clermont County and Ohio ranks among the top five states in the nation for motorcycles.
