The Clermont County Humane Society will be putting the warm summer weather to work for them, scheduling two fund-raising events in less than one month’s time.

On June 24, the first annual 5k run/walk for animals will be held on the Loveland-Miami Bike Trail, and on July 14, the third annual Janet Wolf Memorial golf outing will be held. Proceeds from the two events will go to help house and care for abandoned animals in the Clermont County Animal Shelter, said humane society board member Amy Kramer.

“This 5k walk is the first we’ve ever done, so it’s the first annual,” said Kramer. “We’ll actually do the walk on the Loveland bike trail, we have permission to do that from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. We’ll have a clock, because a lot of runners like to keep track of their time. Everyone who is registered, while their on the walk, we’ll draw some prizes. We have King’s Island passes, Reds tickets, trinkets for kids, and all of the money we earn will go back to the shelter to care for the animals. We’re excited about this, because we’ve never really done it before.”
